Arrived at devil's lake on Friday. Spent most of it biking and sunbathing on the beautiful north shore.
Joy and her friends arrived later that evening.
Saturday we canoed down the fox river. With no current and a strong head wind it was like paddling upstream most of the day. And then we hit the lake. After a half hour of paddling through moderately rough waves most everyone was ready for bed. But not after a hearty dinner of carrots, potatoes, and roast beef prepared in foil packets dropped right in the fire's coals.
Sunday we did a little hiking and Nikki joined in some rock climbing. We saw the Devil's Doorway and the (not too exciting) Balanced Rock.
Afterwards we rinsed off at the south shore beach, and Nikki watched tiny fish eat at her toes.
Most of the pictures taken after Friday were on a disposable camera, so as soon as those are developed we'll throw them up.
This is one of the coolest pictures I have ever seen ( the feet in the water one). Looks like you guys are having a great time! So happy for you ;) -kaylan
